Boston is probably one of the most well-known cities in the United States, even having served as the setting for many famous movies, including “Good Will Hunting,” “The Town,” “Spotlight,” and “The Fighter.” One reason so many people love Boston is that there is always something to see and do! If you live in the Boston area or are planning a trip to Massachusetts anytime soon, check out some things you might do on the weekend while in this fine city.

The Museum of Fine Art

If you love art in many forms, you must visit the Museum of Fine Art in Boston. This world-renowned museum features over 450,000 pieces and displays, including authentic Egyptian art and treasures, impressionist artwork, pieces from Asia, and so much more! There are also studio art classes and movies you might enjoy as well as guided tours throughout the year.

The New England Aquarium

The name says it all! The New England Aquarium offers a number of aquatic displays and exhibits, including colorful fish and fierce sea lions to always entertaining penguins and other marine life. There are also many animal encounter programs you might enjoy with the kids, including a meet and greet with harbor seals and an up close encounter with sea turtles. Boston Common

For those who want to get outside and enjoy the beautiful New England weather when in the city, consider a tour of Boston Common. Dating back to the 1600s, Boston Common is the oldest public park in the United States and offers 50 acres of lush greenery you’re sure to love. The park is also home to an age-old cemetery that is sure to appeal to history buffs and those who prefer a bit of a scare as well! Be sure to visit in the springtime if you can, to enjoy the many flowers planted in the park, planned for maximum visual appeal.

The Museum of Science

The Museum of Science in Boston typically features a revolving display of temporary exhibits, so you’re sure to always find something new no matter when you visit! There is also an indoor zoo you might explore and a planetarium as well as an IMAX theater with lots of showings throughout the year. You might even enjoy their butterfly garden, with the many colorful species you’re sure to find fluttering about!
